Who We Are
The Visit San Antonio River Walk Department is a small but passionate team dedicated to bringing our community’s rich culture to life through 25+ events every year. From vibrant parades to festive celebrations, we create experiences that unite locals and visitors in the heart of San Antonio. Our team of five is committed to elevating these events, but they simply wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support of volunteers like you. We’re building a community of volunteers who help us make each event a success, and we can’t do it without you.
What We Do
The Day of the Dead River Parade is one of our signature and largest events, celebrating the Dia de los Muertos holiday with a breathtaking parade for ticketed attendees. This beloved event brings locals and visitors together to honor tradition and community. To make it all happen, we need all hands on deck! In the week leading up to the event, volunteers help count and label chairs to ensure every attendee can easily find their seat. On the day of the parade, we rely on volunteers to serve as wayfinders, ushers, and gate attendants, directing guests along the River Walk and enhancing their experience. Your help is vital to the success of this extraordinary celebration!
